bizzcult
For this project, I worked with a client over a period of 5 months. He needed a logo and branding for a new cafe that they're opening up in Taiwan. I was given the title "Bizzcult" and the creative freedom to come up with a concept.
The name "Bizzcult" is the English romanization of the Taiwanese word for "Biscuit." Upon hearing the name, my mind immediately went to the sound of "bizz" that a bee makes; that became the main inspiration behind the following logo designs and concepts!

development process

my first set of sketches and ideas for color, mascot, typeface, etc.

I began the mascot development with the core focus being a bee!

I hand-drew the font to ensure cohesion for the two variations: English and Mandarin Chinese. The design incorporates bee-inspired elements, like a striped, pointy yet round 'B' to evoke a bee's form!

to provide my client with a different look, I decided to steer away from a cartoony style. With this set of sketches, I focused on line-based designs for a more refined look. I mainly either incorporated a honeycomb and or a heart, reflecting their use of honey in most menu items and the heart shape of their signature palmier biscuit!

these ended up being my client's favorite designs!
